Feature Requests

The system doesn't currently allow to change the capacity per grade and per school year and it's a big miss. I have been suggested to use my own spreadsheet which is not a software solution but instead a quick fix. My team and other departments needs to easily where we stand year on year and also for reporting purpose. We do have in year admissions which blocks us from changing the capacity for next year already for example. Surely lots of school needs to amend this yearly with growth of cohorts and whether they decide to open or close a classroom.

There is currently no way to change the Type of a Status even though you can call the Status what you like. Our Offered status has a type of "Admitted", which when included in the notification to parents is very confusing. Please can we have the ability to rename the status type, or please remove the status type from the notification to parents. No workaround. Please see pics.

We have had to close applications for 2 of our year groups. The work around is saving a message on the application site to say we are no longer taking applications. Many parents don't read this message or they choose to ignore!? Please could you consider building into Open Apply a function where we can close off applications for different year groups as this would save the work load of extra emails being sent out to families.

It would be helpful if we could add multiple representatives to one application. Because we sometime we need two staff to work with a family through the application process.

It would be great if our student/parent passports or IDS uploaded Open Apply could be automatically scanned with an OCR tool that will automatically populate the parent/student official names in our application form. This will minimize any manually entered/incorrect data and assist our school's workflow - especially when we need to visually check their uploaded passports/IDs to ensure the student name is correct when registering them for exams, official documents, etc. Perhaps Open Apply developer teams can offer this as an add-on paid feature.

We spend a lot of time tidying data, it would be great if fields automatically capitalise Names, addresses etc

It would be super useful to be able to check off items directly there instead of going to the student profile. We can click on it and see the list but not check off anything.

I would like to suggest adding a “tick box” function on the edit page for administrators when updating a parent’s address after the child’s address has been updated. This would allow the administrator to simply tick a box if the parent’s address is the same as the child’s. Additionally, it might be helpful to include a prompt asking whether the child’s address needs to be updated if only the parent’s address has been modified. I’ve noticed that the child’s address is not linked and is on a separate page, which could sometimes lead to it being overlooked. Thank you for considering these suggestions.
